But I Get SO Angry!!!
June 3, 2012
Anger is an issue that can rise up in anyone. Our world is filled with unfair circumstances, injustice, abuse, neglect, trauma, etc. These are real reasons to have anger begin to build.
However, anger has a way of taking control. Suddenly we find ourselves behaving in ways we never dreamed we ever would. We most often lash out with words or behaviours to those we love the most. At the end, sometimes we wonder--what was I so angry about at the beginning? Regret can set in, which can leave us feeling helpless and filled with sorrow for our actions. These situations create hurts that do not disappear over time, because trust is broken.
When anger builds like this, it is a strong indicator that something is wrong. There may be a legitimate wrong-doing that has made you angry, however, you may be reacting inappropriately. Learning to understand anger, and the patterns that take place is your first step to regaining control. You may have a hard time seeing it, because of the intensity of anger you experience. Having a counsellor look at current situations can help you see what is going wrong, which can give you the clues to see where it all began. With these discoveries you can resolve past hurts, and restore wounded relationships. You can regain control over the intense emotions, and learn to express your displeasures in meaningful and appropriate ways.
If you desire this outcome, please call or email, and I would be happy to assist you.
